My Scottish/Celtic Page This page is dedicated to my two sisters, Karen and Kimberly, who each have a love for Scottish and Celtic history. I will be adding to this page as soon as I have time to my research on the art and the cross, so check back often. |

The Celtic cross....St. Collumcille (Columba) brought Christianity to Scotland from Ireland. He established a monastary on the isle of IONA in 563 and proceeded to what is now Scotland. There he was confronted by druadic priests who said Christ conflicts with nature. One drew a circle of life in the dirt in which Columba immediately drew an intersecting cross...stating that God , being the creator of nature, compliments it. Hence the beginning of the Celtic cross. |

| Until my younger sister sends me some pictures of her Highland dance group...I will have to leave this space imageless. There are several types of Highland dance but I don't have all my notes oraganized yet....so lets see what gets here first..the picture or the info. |
| Being a fan of the movie Braveheart, I indeed found out about Sir William Wallace. From 1296 until 1305 he fought hard to give freedom to Scotland. He was captured , convicted of treason against England and put to death. To gaze upon the man we associate as William Wallace go to my next page..but browse the other Scottish links listed below. |
